Most people who are trying to prevent disease and avoid long-term health problems find that they can do so only if they have the right approach to life and technology. This approach must be equal parts ancestral wellness and forward looking technologies. For this to happen, it is imperative to keep a few things in mind.

For one, diet and community play a big role in our longevity and health. If we want to maintain our brain health for a long time, it is important to eat a healthful diet and spend time with family members and friends. On the other side of the spectrum, nootropics are supplements that have been developed by modern technology to help us accelerate our learning and (hopefully) avoid some of the aging drawbacks.

Many of the nootropics that are commonly found in different organizations and companies are the types that can increase focus and concentration. The Qualia Neurohacker supplement is one example where the focus is on both long-term health and brain enhancement while also providing the short-term boost some people desire.

There are plenty of other examples of nootropics that are alternatives medicines for the brain. To this day, numerous people use traditional Chinese or Indian Ayurvedic medicines in order to treat their ailments. Certain Viking groups used rhodiola rosea root for improving their ability to handle stress. These same nootropics can be used today instead of the pharmaceutical companies and their drugs.

Sometimes pharmaceutical companies come out with something that is useful, but the truth is that these are people with significant ulterior motives. They are trying to get you to spend a lot of money on their products because that is how they can afford to go through the many layers of testing that they need in order to become a pharmaceutical drug.

This means that many of the natural plants and extracts are not studied because there is no use to do so. This is truly a shame because nature has provided us with so many useful tools that can allow us to grow more intelligent, better cognitively, and a whole lot more effective.

Changing Our Perspective on Pharma

There are plenty of people who believe that the medical doctors and establishment are looking out for them. To some degree, this is true. There are certain ailments that modern technology and doctors can cure which the traditional options cannot. It is a shame that some people only go with alternative medicine (like Steve Jobs) and end up paying with his life.

The truth is, we need to have a balanced perspective with pharmaceutical companies. Many people believe that they only do one or the other, but we need both. Alternative medicines for the brain will make a big difference in your life if you allow them to do so. The key is to take self-responsibility for yourself and make sure you use only what is making a big difference in your health.
